ELA M 251T is a microphone with a newly designed CK13 capsule. Despite being based on classic ELAM 251 models, the ELA M251T is designed in a very modern style.

A special feature is the use of the Alloy 2213 as the membrane material for the CK-13 capsule. Alloy 2213 is a titanium and aluminum mixture originally developed for the aerospace industry.
Traditionally, a gold coating was applied to Mylar to make the membranes of the historical CK-12 capsule. By using Alloy 2213, which is much stronger than gold, Telefunken Elektroakustik developed a capsule that provides greater accuracy in the low-frequency range of the sound spectrum due to a higher damping coefficient of membrane movement. Alloy 2213 is lighter than gold and combined with the CK-12 system with an edge termination provides "airy" and "delicate" reproduction of the upper range of the sound spectrum. This allows the user to achieve a higher level of detail in recorded sound while maintaining the depth of sound that ELA M 251 microphones have been associated with for decades.
After extensive research and development, the perfect tuning and manufacture of the diaphragm were achieved, resulting in a microphone body that better withstands moisture, smoke, and extreme volumes, reducing maintenance costs for many years and providing the user with superior playback of recorded sound.
The amplifier is similar to the ELA M251E, equipped with a new vintage Telefunken 6072a tube, a European-made output transformer, but can also be connected to the amplifier ELA M251 with a NOS Telefunken AC-701 tube. The CK-13 capsule assembly will also be available through regular distribution channels for upgrading all Telefunken Elektroakustik ELA M250 and 251 models, new and vintage, on the secondary market.
ELA M 251T is also distinguished from classic models such as ELA M 250, 250E, 251, 251E, and ELA M 270 by the classic mint green body color and smooth sulfamate nickel finish, reflecting the patented capsule technology.
