Having undergone many changes in management, technical process and development strategy, today Telefunken, which belongs to TEELEFUNKEN Holding AG, owns more than 20,000 patents and operates in more than 130 countries worldwide. Telefunken places progress and active implementation of innovative technologies in its development strategy. Thanks to the rich tradition and rich heritage of the company, Telefunken has a high reputation for premium products.

The company was founded in 1903. Immediately before its creation, the companies Siemens & Halske and AEG could not come to an agreement on jointly developed patents. Kaiser Wilhelm II personally intervened in the settlement of disagreements, who considered it necessary to create a new joint venture with a share capital of 300 thousand marks.

Since 2000, Telefunken has been working with more than 50 partners in 120 countries around the world, who sell original products or work on an OEM system, implementing their technologies in manufactured products. Since 2006, the largest TV manufacturer in Europe, the Turkish holding Profilo Holding, has been producing LCD TVs under the Telefunken brand. In 2008, cooperation with Profilo was terminated, and TVs under the Telefunken brand are manufactured by Vestel.

In 2001, Telefunken USA was founded in South Windsor, Connecticut, North America; its goal is to create exact replicas of original microphones. In 2009, as a result of a conference organized in Frankfurt, the company was granted exclusive rights to produce a wide range of acoustic equipment under the Telefunken brand, and Telefunken USA was renamed Telefunken Elektroakustik.
