M82 is designed for kick drums, M81-SH is for toms, and M80-SHB is best suited for snare drums. Telefunken M80
The microphone is specifically designed for vocals and drums where a shortened microphone with an angled XLR is required. Its wide dynamic range and high sound pressure make it an excellent universal dynamic microphone. The shortened version also features a built-in microphone holder.
Telefunken M81-SH
It has all the advantages of M80-SH: minimal proximity effect, feedback resistance, clear and articulate midrange. But in addition, it has a flatter frequency response, allowing for a more spacious sound for toms, percussion, as well as other instruments and vocals.
Telefunken M82
This is a high-quality, reliable dynamic microphone with a large diaphragm, specifically designed for miking kick drums, as well as vocals and broadcasting. The microphone is equipped with two EQ presets: KICK EQ and HIGH BOOST. M82 is hand assembled at the Telefunken factory in the USA.
The Telefunken DD4 and DD5 sets come in durable hard shell cases (FC80) and include microphone mounts (M782, M784, and M785), as well as microphone cables measuring 5 meters with right-angle XLR connectors (SGMC-5R) for each microphone.
