Workflow
Every aspect of KeyLab MkII has been carefully designed to minimize distractions and provide efficient shortcuts, keeping the focus on playing. KeyLab MkII features three different modes that allow for instant switching between them for a seamless and efficient workflow: Analog Lab Mode, DAW Mode, and User Mode. The first is geared towards working with the proprietary Analog Lab 3 software, the second for modern audio/MIDI sequencers, and the third allows customization of every button, pad, slider, and knob to suit your needs.
DAW Commands
KeyLab MkII not only offers comprehensive DAW control using the standard Mackie HUI protocol but also includes presets for the most popular recording software. This controller includes mappings for Ableton Live, Logic Pro X, Pro Tools, Cubase, Studio One, Reaper, as well as standard Mackie and HUI settings.
Analog Lab
Analog Lab provides you with thousands of top-quality sounds and offers a fantastic introduction to the software instrument catalog. Featuring 17 iconic instruments, including analog synthesizers, revolutionary digital workstations, organs, string machines, and pianos, created using Arturia's True Analog Emulation® technology and taken from the award-winning Arturia V Collection.
Ableton Live Lite
Explore the world of Ableton Live - powerful software known for its intuitive interface, popular among top producers, DJs, and performers. Capture your ideas, layer sounds, apply effects, warp audio, and fully control built-in drum machines and software effects to create complete tracks. Live Lite is fully compatible with KeyLab MkII, with each knob, fader, and pad automatically assigned to key functions. Use the DAW command center for intuitive playback control without using a mouse, allowing you to focus on the task at hand.
Piano V
Fully utilize the expressiveness of the KeyLab MkII keyboard with Piano V - a comprehensive piano software package with Arturia's Phi physical modeling for recreating the sound of legendary acoustic pianos, such as the iconic German concert grand and Japanese models. More esoteric instruments are available thanks to the magic of physical modeling, allowing full control over numerous parameters to refine the sound of your perfect instrument.
Modular Control
For enthusiasts of vintage synthesizers and modern Eurorack modules, we have something special for you. The modular options of KeyLab MkII allow you to merge the worlds of MIDI and CV/Gate, providing vast opportunities for transmitting information from modules to DAW via MIDI/USB.
Master of Performance
RGB-backlit pads, velocity- and pressure-sensitive, are not just ideal for drummers and triggering samples, they also offer exciting new ways to perform with chords.
The pads can be used in 3 different modes:
- Pad Mode - used to send MIDI notes or CC data, depending on its assignment in MCC. Dynamic, high-quality pads are engaging for performance and recording percussion, with colors assignable to specific pads to clarify which type of sound, sample, or loop is activated.
- Chord Memory Mode - allows storing up to 16 unique chords, each containing up to 6 notes, by easily setting them using the controller or Arturia MCC. In this mode, the user can play chords with the left hand and melodies on the keyboard with the right hand. You can instantly access some factory preset chords!
- The more advanced Chord Transpose Mode allows triggering chord shapes selected by the pads when playing notes on the keyboard. The selected note is played as a guide, and the pad you choose forms a chord around it. The creative potential is immense - allowing you to experiment with harmonic overtones in your polyphonic lead sounds, create evolving, drifting pads, and much more.
