The Teenage Engineering PO-14 sub bass synthesizer is small enough to fit in your pocket and runs on a pair of AAA batteries. It features a variety of real synthesizer engines, including FM, subtractive synthesis, wavetable, and physically modeled strings with 16 effects including delay, bit crush, and filters. It also includes 16 bass guitar playing styles geared towards punchy performances. The bass guitar playing styles are a quick way to create melodies. The concept is to minimize the effort of inputting a full series of notes in a sequence, by simply adding one or a few notes and then allowing the input function to fill in the options for the following notes.
The synthesizer parameters can be locked, and the automatic compressor and hardware limiter ensure adequate signal generation without distortion. The 16-step sequencer has 16 available patterns, and up to 16 patterns can be chained together. The built-in clock and alarm clock expand the creative possibilities of the instrument. The jam sync function with 3.5mm audio inputs allows for connecting multiple synthesizer devices to each other.
The synthesizer is made of high-quality components with low power consumption and features a Silabs EFM 32 Gecko processor, Cirrus Logic DAC, and Knowles speaker located under a new animated LCD display on a single circuit board. The fold-out stand makes playback easier, and the soldered speaker jacks on the back panel allow you to connect the device to a larger sound system.
