Teenage Engineering
Teenage Engineering is an iconic Swedish consumer electronics manufacturer that has gained worldwide fame for its unconventional approach to musical equipment, portable synthesizers, and audio systems. The brand was founded in 2005 in Stockholm by Jesper Kouthoofd (one of the co-founders of the famous fashion brand Acne Studios), David Eriksson, Jens Rudberg, and David Möllerstedt.
The company's philosophy is built at the intersection of technological perfectionism, retrofuturism, and minimalist Scandinavian design, where every device is created as a standalone art object with a playful element of interaction.
Beyond the music industry, the Teenage Engineering design studio is actively involved in industrial design for third-party brands. They designed the first smartphones and headphones for the British tech company Nothing, created the Frekvens portable speakers for IKEA, developed the design for the unique Rabbit R1 AI gadget, and also produce designer computer cases, speaker systems (OD-11), and even mechanical toys.
