Designed for expressive live performances with grid synchronized loops and effects in a reggae style for real-time sound shaping, the teenage engineering EP-40 RIDDIM is a powerful sampler, sequencer, and composer inspired by reggae, dub, dancehall culture, and sound systems. RIDDIM comes with over 400 handmade instruments and sounds created by famous reggae producers and artists. The built-in synthesizer engine includes presets for classic reggae basses and synthesizer tones, as well as a set of pressure-sensitive dub sirens.
EP-40, built on architecture with 12 stereo/16 mono voices, is a full-fledged live instrument for creating music in reggae and dub genres, combining a sampler, subtractive Supertone synthesizer, and sequencer with 128 MB memory (up to 80,000 notes per project) in one unit. Its workflow is optimized for live performance: instant recording via built-in microphone and speaker, grid-synchronized loops, pressure-sensitive pads, as well as a multifunctional fader for macro control of 7 main and 12 Punch-In effects (such as reverb, delay, filters, and compressor). The internal library includes over 300 sounds optimized for rhythmic music.
