This versatile solution combines advanced technologies, exceptional detail, and flexibility in operation, suitable for both vocal and instrumental recordings. The model belongs to the category of high-tech microphones used in professional recording studios, broadcasting, post-production, and High-End home project studios.

    Features:

    • Primarily designed for vocals, but also suitable for recording acoustic instruments
    • Double diaphragm capsule to reduce proximity effect
    • Two-component metal body construction to suppress noise levels by preventing vibration
    • Switchable low-cut filter and -10 dB pad
    • Includes shock mount and carrying case

Best choice for professional musicians and sound engineers. It offers high-quality sound and excellent sensitivity. The C-80 model provides clear and natural sound, capturing every nuance and detail of the audio signal. With a frequency range from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, this microphone can record the lowest bass sounds and highest notes with high accuracy. The rich and full mid-range sound ensures clear vocal reproduction, allowing it to stand out even when mixed with other instrumental sounds. The high-frequency range reproduces even the finest nuances, such as delicate breaths. Overall, the simple and natural sound does not require complex post-processing.

Following the success of the microphone capsule for the C-100 model, renowned for its high-quality sound, a new microphone capsule was developed for the C-80. The acoustic impedance on the rear panel was reduced to achieve higher sensitivity. The capsule and rear electrode housing are made of high-strength polyetherimide with high insulation (PEI) material with high-precision resin processing, and the capsule and rear electrode are made of brass manufactured with high-precision mechanical processing. The diaphragm membrane is coated with a vapor-phase deposition of 24-carat gold. The meticulous assembly and processing of these materials achieve.

The Sony C-80 boasts an incredibly low noise level, providing a clean and undistorted signal. This allows the microphone to be used in the most demanding studio conditions where every note is crucial. Natural and clear voice recordings are achieved by suppressing sharp low frequencies and noise when recording is done close to the microphone. The forward polar pattern and low-frequency filter characteristics prevent the microphone from capturing surrounding and low-frequency noise, making it suitable for live broadcasts.

When recording acoustic guitars and pianos, instrument characteristics such as guitar string squeaks and resonant body tones are realistically reproduced with stable, extended low levels and a natural overall balance. The dynamic and rich sound also brings the instruments closer to the listener.

The double diaphragms reduce the proximity effect. Natural vocals and voice recordings are possible even when the sound source is close to the microphone. The low-frequency filter eliminates unwanted low-frequency noises, and the pad switch minimizes distortions caused by excessive input.
