The Pro-Ject T2 Super Phono significantly improves on the formula of the T1 model, which has been well received by critics, by incorporating many new audiophile features and setting new standards in its price range. It is a true hi-fi playback system without any corners cut. This fully-featured turntable comes equipped with a precision-designed aluminum tonearm with a pre-installed Sumiko Rainier cartridge, a built-in phono preamp, and a support disc made of thick glass.
The elegant base, processed using CNC machining, has been enlarged for increased stability and is available in vibrant finish options such as gloss black, satin white, or walnut. It features a construction free of plastic components and meticulous craftsmanship to eliminate any voids inside, effectively preventing unwanted body vibrations.
Additionally, the glass platter in the T2 is heavier and thicker compared to its predecessor, providing a zero-resonance construction that effectively eliminates the shortcomings associated with plastic or light steel alternatives. In addition to these enhancements, specially selected turntable feet effectively isolate the T2 from external vibrations that may occur in close proximity to your audio system.
The T2 tonearm has been improved by lengthening the tonearm tube. With a straight, efficient 9-inch length and a sturdy aluminum construction, this solid tonearm also features new low-friction bearings that allow for increased length and diameter, providing absolute precision in use.
In addition to its sleek and stylish appearance, the integrated headshell also does not introduce additional vibrations and is a significant advantage compared to other removable, screw-on, or adhesive headshells! The T2 model also includes an adjustable spring anti-skate mechanism that optimizes performance and maximizes the potential of your cartridge.
The motor and drive system in the T2 model remain identical to those in the T1 model. The motor drives belts connected to our new sub-platter, specially designed for the T-line range. This additional platter is installed on an ultra-precise main bearing with a diameter of 0.001mm with a hardened steel shaft and brass bushing. While most alternative products may use unregulated direct current motors with wide speed fluctuations, the T2 is equipped with our proven high-precision alternating current motor system with electronic speed control. The T2 also features an electronic speed switch from 33 to 45 revolutions per minute, resulting in a low-noise and stable turntable drive system.
The T2 Super Phono is equipped with a high-quality dual-stage passive MM phono preamp, first introduced in the T2 W model, which received critical acclaim. Thanks to the additional space on the circuit board that the T2 Super Phono received, the design and layout have been significantly improved, making the T2 Super Phono even more compact. The enhanced combat power ensures durability and sound quality. The phono preamp can also be switched off if you ever want to use, for example, MC cartridges on your T2 Super Phono.
