The Connect It DS interconnect cables use a highly purified OFC copper conductor. The shielding is done using an OFC copper braid with a conductive TPE jacket, providing perfect protection against interference and high flexibility for the cable.
For a cable, not only the conductor is important, but also the cable's dielectric, its shielding, and the quality of manufacturing. The dielectric determines the cable's capacitance, which is crucial. Technically, air is the best dielectric, but its application is impossible in reality. Pro-Ject uses polyethylene (PE), which has excellent insulation characteristics. The Connect It DS and RS series cables use a flexible cellular PE, ensuring low cable capacitance.
All connectors in the DS-Line cables have silver-plated contacts, providing higher conductivity compared to gold-plated connectors. As known, silver can oxidize and darken over time. However, this is not a problem as silver oxide has the same conductivity as silver itself.
