KEF R3 Meta is a three-way bookshelf speaker from the new generation R Series, now featuring Metamaterial Absorption Technology. Thanks to the latest technological advancements, these compact audio systems redefine performance.

The R3 Meta is equipped with the same drivers as the flagship model of the R11 Meta series. The 165mm (6.5-inch) low-frequency driver takes bass reproduction to a new level, while the 125mm (5-inch) mid-range driver and 25mm (1-inch) aluminum dome tweeter create a 12th-generation Uni-Q array with MAT technology for cleaner and more accurate reproduction and performance.
Versatility
The KEF R3 Meta can be used both in a two-channel stereo and in home theater systems, in combination with other KEF R Meta speakers.

Design
Guided solely by acoustic requirements, KEF believes that even in internal engineering decisions there is a certain beauty. The R series was created to be beautiful on the outside. Thanks to its minimalist design, the speakers will seamlessly and elegantly fit into any interior - classic or modern.@@Special microfiber grills

Special microfiber grilles
The R series was developed to work with or without grilles. Special microfiber grilles are made from multiple layers of material and have a suede-like feel. With 1801 precision holes for each driver, performance is guaranteed even with the grills closed. Magnetic attachments ensure secure and precise fitting in line with the clean style of the R series.

Floor stands
KEF R3 Meta speakers have threaded inserts for securing the speakers to the S3 floor stands. The specially designed mounting system securely holds the drivers in place. The dimensions of the S3 stands were set by KEF engineers to provide the perfect height for driver positioning during listening.
60 years of acoustic innovation
Since 1961, KEF has been a pioneer in innovative acoustic engineering, striving to deliver superior sound quality. By combining all of KEF's key technologies, the KEF R speakers provide exceptional acoustic performance.

Perfect sound in every corner of the room
The Uni-Q technology is a cornerstone of KEF's signature sound. Designed for maximum performance, the 12th generation Uni-Q driver array acts as a single point source, extending the "sweet spot" and distributing sound more evenly, allowing everyone in different parts of the room to experience the same natural, detailed sound.

The absorbing metamaterial technology absorbs 99% of unwanted sound
The MAT is a highly complex labyrinth-like structure that absorbs a total of 99% of unwanted sound energy, while traditional absorbers like polyester provide only 60% absorption.

Deep, dynamic bass
Bass is a vital element of performance, and the low-frequency drivers in the R series have been carefully and precisely designed. They are constructed using a two-part structure, with a shallow concave aluminum shell sitting on top of a paper cone. This rigidity, combined with a unique diffuser geometry, reduces unwanted resonances and ensures piston-like movement, allowing these drivers to perform exceptionally well. The magnetic system of the speakers creates a wide, uniform magnetic field, and the suspension reduces harmonic distortion for clean and accurate sound. The result is an exceptionally deep and articulate bass, revealing all the finest details and impacts available in the low frequencies.

Flexible bass port
We want to hear only the drivers, not the resonances or turbulence created by the bass port. The phase inversion ports in the R series feature innovative flexible walls. Using computational hydrodynamics, the profile of each port is calculated to delay the onset of turbulence, while the flexible walls prevent coloration from longitudinal resonances in the mid frequencies. The advantages of this approach are twofold: better quality bass and cleaner sound throughout the frequency range, particularly in the crucial lower midrange region.

Shadow Flare for improved clarity
Shadow Flare is another feature originally developed for the Reference range. It reduces harmful diffraction from the speaker cabinet, allowing the 12th generation Uni-Q with MAT to operate at its full potential. Shadow Flare is a specially designed surface that extends the waveguide effect of the Uni-Q driver array. The unique Shadow Flare ring significantly reduces the influence of diffraction effects occurring at the edges of the speaker cabinet. The result is improved clarity and the reproduction of fine details, making the listening experience even more captivating. The subtle nuances of plucked strings, vibrato variations in vocals - all can be heard with even greater clarity with R Series.

Internal Bracing System
Powerful drivers can easily make the walls of the cabinet vibrate, producing a noise that was never present in the recording. Working in conjunction with a special arrangement of internal bracing, KEF's Constrained Layer Damping is a complex bracing system that ensures the inertness of the cabinet, connecting the bracing with the drivers and cabinet via a lossy interface. This material converts vibration into heat, resulting in the cabinet emitting only the sound it needs - the sound of silence.
