The Jack of All Trades
The BTR 17 model combines years of FiiO's experience in developing DACs and headphone amplifiers. In a compact body, it features flagship-level functions such as a multi-stage audio system architecture and a precision power system comparable to other high-quality players and DAC/headphone amplifier combos. Truly a jack of all trades, it once again sets a new standard among Bluetooth headphone amplifiers.
Bluetooth Chip QCC5181
The BTR 17 is equipped with the new flagship Bluetooth chip Qualcomm QCC5181, which not only meets the Bluetooth LE Audio standard with a bandwidth of 2.1 Mbps, but also is capable of lossless data transmission quality thanks to the adaptive aptX system. This means the chip can deliver CD-quality sound without loss compared to Bluetooth audio, bringing you closer to the music with all its intricate details. Additionally, the BTR 17 also supports the latest Bluetooth standard - Bluetooth 5.4. It also supports LDAC and aptX Adaptive 96 kHz/24 bit. Bluetooth codecs, combined with Snapdragon Sound technology, provide unparalleled sound quality when listening via Bluetooth.
Three Operating Modes
The BTR 17 features a special D.Mode switch and a port for connecting an external independent power source. In desktop mode, when you connect the BTR17 to your phone as a DAC and headphone amplifier, you can also connect an external power source to the BTR 17 via a dedicated power port. This means the BTR 17's battery will be fully charged via USB, allowing for powerful sound output without recharging the phone's battery.
One Switch for Multiple Uses
The BTR 17 features a convenient three-position switch for PC/BT/phone, allowing easy switching between modes. Switching modes allows the BTR17 to optimize the power source depending on the connected device, making it ideal for various use cases. PC (computer sound card): Device is fully powered by the computer. BT (Bluetooth DAC and amplifier): Device is powered by the built-in battery and can be used for charging and power when connected via USB. PHONE (phone key): The device's internal battery participates in power supply, reducing energy consumption of the connected phone.
16-core Processor XMOS XU316
The flagship XMOS XU316 processor is used as the USB chip, featuring lower latency, more stable data transmission, and better compatibility compared to commonly used USB controllers. Support for 768 kHz/32-bit audio, DSD512 native, and full MQA decoding means the chip can handle almost any audio stream. The XU316's ample processing power allows the BTR 17 to play high-definition audio signals with frequencies up to 192 kHz.
Two Flagship ES9069Q DACs
The BTR 17 houses two ESS ES9069Q DACs, based on 32-bit HyperStream architecture, providing high performance with lower power consumption. This architecture helps further reduce digital noise in the DAC, achieving a dynamic range of 130 dB and a total harmonic distortion of 120 dB. The result is a more saturated, musical sound on a cleaner sound background.
THX AAA 78+ Headphone Amplifier
The BTR 17 uses the THX AAA 78+ headphone amplifier, as seen in known FIIO models KA17 and M23. The four-channel fully balanced design with parallel use of 8 operational amplifiers provides reliable but controlled power for a cleaner and more natural sound.
Desktop Mode
When the POWER IN port is connected to the power USB port and desktop mode is activated, the BTR 17 THX headphone amplifier will use four operational amplifiers in parallel to amplify the current to fully unleash its potential. This results in a balanced output power of up to 650 mW + 650 mW, 203% higher than the BTR 7. This is comparable even to desktop headphone amplifiers.
