Brand DUNU has introduced the new hybrid in-ear headphones DUNU Vulkan 2, equipped with two dynamic and six balanced armature drivers. As you can guess from the name, the Vulkan 2 are the successors to the DUNU Vulkan model, released in 2022 and acclaimed by music enthusiasts for its elegant design and powerful sound. In the new Vulkan 2 model, DUNU has completely revamped the headphones: a new driver configuration is used here, with an improved four-way crossover, and a hybrid crossover scheme (physical + electronic).
Instead of the six drivers in the original Vulkan model, the new Vulkan 2 model uses a new hybrid configuration with eight drivers. This innovation features two dynamic drivers and six balanced armature drivers, combined through an advanced four-way crossover. DUNU has included two separate dynamic drivers - one with a diameter of 10mm, and the other with 8mm, in addition to two Knowles balanced armature drivers for rich mid-frequency reproduction, and four custom balanced armature drivers for extended and precise high-frequency reproduction.
Both dynamic drivers are housed in independent acoustic chambers, fully isolated from each other and the other drivers. The 10mm driver handles deep sub-bass reproduction, while the 8mm driver is responsible for the main bass range. The construction with fully isolated chambers achieves a rich and powerful sound in the low-frequency spectrum.
DUNU has equipped the Vulkan 2 in-ear headphones with a four-way hybrid crossover with four independent acoustic channels and precise electronic filtering. Each range - sub-bass, bass, mids, and highs - has its own separate channel. This system ensures clear frequency separation across the spectrum, providing a flat and coherent sound image. It also reduces distortion and allows each driver to operate with maximum efficiency.
DUNU is known for its impeccable build quality. The Vulkan 2 in-ear headphones continue this tradition: the housing is made of high-quality aluminum alloy using high-precision CNC processing technology. The model stands out for its neat execution, attractive design, and comfortable fit. The housing color is an exquisite "champagne gold." The package includes a cable made of monocrystalline silver-plated copper in a braided Litz structure. It also supports the proprietary DUNU Q-Lock interchangeable connector system: the package includes connectors for 3.5mm and 4.4mm.
