Astell&Kern and Campfire Audio have already worked together on the AK Solaris X earphones, which were introduced in 2021. Today, the companies have once again joined forces, combining their advanced technologies and developments to create a completely new product worthy of the name PATHFINDER. In order to bring their vision to life, the companies' engineers tested numerous prototypes. By developing a unique design and incorporating an innovative dual-chamber driver with a balanced armature, they finally achieved the sought-after sound.

Combination for perfect balance
To achieve an extended frequency range, realistic reproduction, and perfect balance, a completely new design was required. In the PATHFINDER, the latest two-chamber BA driver from Knowles is responsible for the critical midrange, while the custom dual BA driver handles the highs, and two hybrid diaphragm dynamic drivers deliver the bass and lower midrange.
New level of performance with dual drivers and T.A.E.C
Custom-tuned for PATHFINDER, the dual driver with balanced armature and the proprietary T.A.E.C. technology (Tuned Acoustic Expansion Chamber) provides clearer and more accurate expression of high frequencies without sibilance or listener fatigue.
First-ever application of dual-chamber BA driver technology
The new dual-chamber driver from Knowles, introduced for the first time in PATHFINDER, is an innovative transducer with a balanced armature where one coil drives two separate diaphragms. The effect is comparable to a twin-cylinder engine, delivering greater power and smoother operation compared to a single large-piston engine. The new dual-chamber driver effectively reproduces warmer and more natural mid-frequencies.
Rich bass – dual 10mm dynamic drivers
Custom 10mm drivers with hybrid diaphragm (PU + LCP) incorporate Campfire Audio’s new design – a 3D-printed acoustic chamber with radial venting. This solution ensures rich sound with faster and more powerful bass, without excessive pressure or exaggeration.
Durable Anti-Resonance Enclosure
The headphone enclosures are precision-milled from high-quality aluminum and anodized in a black "Night Sky" color. The aluminum chassis, together with the stainless steel faceplate and sound bore, ensure durability and suppress unwanted vibrations, minimizing noise. At the same time, the enclosure provides a secure fit so that you can enjoy comfortable listening to your favorite music.
Beryllium/Copper MMCX Connectors
PATHFINDER comes with custom-made MMCX connectors made of beryllium copper. They are more resistant to wear than standard brass connectors, allowing for a reliable connection and extended lifespan.
Silver-Plated Copper and Flat Cable
The headphones are equipped with three premium cables made of silver-plated copper, which allow for the full realization of their potential with any connection (unbalanced 3.5mm, balanced 2.5mm, or 4.4mm). The cable consists of Litz conductors made of oxygen-free silver-plated copper, providing a cleaner and more extended sound. The flat cable design prevents tangling and allows for easy storage.
