Rane

Founded and incorporated in 1981 in Washington State, RANE Corporation is a privately held company. The original owners had previously worked together in mid-level management positions at Phase Linear Corporation, a high-end consumer electronics company. With this background, they combined over 40 years of audio experience to create RANE Corporation.

RANE began with four products aimed at small music bands and designed to enhance their live performances. With these products, RANE quickly set a new bar for performance, quality, and reliability. RANE products were priced below high-end equipment, but exceeded them in performance and lifespan, but still priced significantly higher than lower-end products, creating a new middle ground. A remarkable testament to the importance of design and RANE's reputation for reliability is that in its first two years of production, RANE developed and shipped eight new products.
