Teenage Engineering CM-15 is a portable large-diaphragm condenser microphone with USB-C connectivity, mini-XLR connector, and 1/8" TRS line output. It has a frequency range of 20 Hz - 20 kHz, a supercardioid polar pattern, built-in preamplifier, and a built-in battery for recording on the go.
The CM-15 from Teenage Engineering is a versatile studio condenser microphone with a 1-inch large diaphragm, built-in preamp, ESS Sabre ADC, USB-C interface, mini-XLR connection with phantom power, and a 3.5mm line output, suitable for recording, streaming, and mobile recording anywhere.
The microphone offers 3 modes of operation simultaneously: classic connection via mini-XLR with 48V phantom power, USB microphone with USB-C interface, and standalone mode through the built-in preamplifier and 3.5mm line output powered by the built-in battery. The CM-15 captures frequencies from 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz, with a supercardioid polar pattern for clear recording direction with minimal surrounding noise capture. The most even frequency response is achieved at a distance of approximately 50 cm from the sound source.
The microphone is equipped with a high-performance ESS Sabre ES9822Q PRO converter with a resolution of up to 96 kHz and a low self-noise level of ~14 dBA. The maximum sound pressure level reaches 138 dB SPL at THD ≤ 0.5, allowing it to be used to capture signals from loud sound sources.
Teenage Engineering CM-15 features an attenuator to change the preamplifier gain: -18 dB, 0 dB, and +18 dB, allowing the microphone to be adapted for quiet and loud sound sources. The built-in battery provides up to 10 hours of standalone operation, automatically switching between power sources via USB-C, phantom power, or battery.
The package includes adapters for mounting on a tripod (1/4" and 3/8") and a built-in stand for desktop placement.
