TEAC has won the Japan VGP Award (The Visual Grand Prix Awards) 2022.
The TEAC PE-505 phono preamplifier is designed with a dual mono ideology that significantly reduces crosstalk. It is versatile, compatible with both MM and MC cartridges, and compatible with moving coil systems in balanced configuration. Input types can be switched from the front panel. The entire amplification circuitry of the new product operates in a differential architecture.
A Hi-End level phono corrector, the device features a unique cartridge resistance indication system with arrow indicators on the front panel. The arrow indicators can also display ultra-low frequencies down to 6 Hz. Depending on the displayed result, the bass component can be turned off by activating a subsonic filter (24db oct).
The equipment includes a knob for selecting the RIAA correction curve scheme, as well as old equalizer curves reportedly used in classic vinyl releases by Decca and Columbia, allowing for effective tonal adjustments of the amplifier to match specific records. Additionally, there is a regulator for adjusting load resistance and capacitance according to your cartridge, as well as a mono output function. The compact design features an analog sensor in the center of the front aluminum panel and a set of unbalanced and balanced inputs and outputs at the back.
