Soyuz Microphones announces the release of a new tube microphone with a large diaphragm, expanding the 017 series. The microphone comes equipped with a military‑grade 6ZH1P tube and stands out for its natural highs, rich mids, and pronounced presence effect.
It features a modified 34 mm S17E capsule and shares similar technical specifications with the 017 Tube model, but offers more open and expressive high frequencies.
In developing the new model, the manufacturer drew inspiration from the rare Soviet LOMO 19A19 microphone. This vintage model was prized for its “airy” sound and distinctive character in the high‑frequency range.
The microphone comes complete with a dedicated power supply unit, a specially selected shock mount, and a handcrafted oak case.
The 017 series microphones deliver an impeccable classic sound — exactly what engineers envision when it comes to a modern microphone. Thanks to their honest and open high end, smooth and elegant midrange, and rich yet balanced low frequencies, these microphones are considered among the best condenser microphones for vocal recording.
At the same time, microphones in this series quickly win over instrumentalists aiming to capture a natural sound with a beautiful character.
The 017 TUBE has quickly become the number‑one vocal microphone for artists such as Coldplay, Radiohead, Shawn Mendes, The Lumineers, Paramore, and many others.
Well‑known producers like Nigel Godrich (Radiohead, Paul McCartney, Beck), Ryan Hewitt (Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Lumineers, Lady Gaga), Sylvia Massy (Prince, Johnny Cash), and Butch Walker (Pink, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Avril Lavigne) use this microphone as their primary tool in the studio.
