The PreSonus Eris Studio 5 is an active studio-grade near-field two-way monitor designed for use in pairs in small studios and for personal monitoring for vocalists, keyboardists, DJs, and other musicians.

The cabinet of the PreSonus Eris Studio 5 features a 5" Kevlar low-frequency driver and a 1" high-resolution tweeter with a silk dome, providing a flat frequency response and wide sound dispersion. At the bottom of the speaker is a slotted bass port, which enhances the lower frequency range. One of the main features of the monitor is the dual amplification scheme (bi-amp): this means that the signal for low and mid frequencies is amplified separately from the signal for high frequencies. It provides a wide frequency range from 48 Hz to 20 kHz.
Inside the PreSonus Eris Studio 5 cabinet is an 80 Watt amplifier, and on the back panel of the speaker, there is a two-band equalizer (MID and HIGH adjustment knobs), a three-position LOW CUTOFF cutoff switch for use with an external subwoofer (with FLAT, 80 Hz, and 100 Hz settings), and an ACOUSTIC SPACE switch to compensate for unwanted low-frequency boost, which may be necessary if the monitor is placed near a wall or in a corner (diagrams of possible speaker placements are shown on the rear panel). There is also an INPUT GAIN switch for amplifying the input signal. Below the switches and adjustment knobs are three input jacks: unbalanced RCA, as well as balanced TRS 1/4" and XLR-F with pinout diagrams.
