Description

The Moondrop MAY DSP combines advanced audio technologies in a compact in-ear monitor form factor. The model features a hybrid driver configuration, including a 10mm dynamic driver with a sapphire-coated diaphragm and a 6mm ring planar magnetic driver. The dynamic driver handles low and mid frequencies, while the planar driver is responsible for the high frequency range above 8000 Hz.

Features:

  • The DSP audio chip provides balanced Hi-Fi sound quality, supports decoding of high-resolution PCM up to 32 bit/384 kHz
  • 10mm dynamic driver with a sapphire wide-frequency diaphragm and 6mm planar driver with a ring magnet
  • The Moondrop Link 2.0 mobile app allows for fine-tuning of the desired sound profile
  • The housing is made of hypoallergenic synthetic resin

The technical specifications of the MAY DSP include an impedance of 30 Ohms ±15% (at 1 kHz), a sensitivity of 120 dB/Vrms, and a nonlinear distortion coefficient of no more than 0.05%. The headphones reproduce a wide frequency range from 7 Hz to 39 kHz, with an effective working range of 20 Hz - 20 kHz. The dynamic range reaches 120 dB with minimal distortion coefficient of 0.00078%.

The key feature of the model is the interactive DSP processor that supports PCM decoding up to 32 bit/384 kHz.

The headphones' housing is made of high-quality medical resin using high-precision 3D printing of the acoustic chamber. The ergonomic design ensures comfortable wear for extended periods.

The MAY DSP come with a detachable cable with a standard 0.78mm two-pin connector and a USB Type-C connector. The cable integrates a DAC/amplifier, a three-button multimedia control, and a high-quality microphone.

The headphones' two-way crossover is optimized using acoustic FEA analysis. The composite sapphire membrane with flexible suspension provides a classic tone with low distortion. The sound signature is matched with the VDSF target curve for natural sound. The four-layer circuit with gold plating and high-precision components complements the high-quality sound transmission.

Beautiful, smooth highs and a deep low end. The hypoallergenic resin housing is comfortable, though the cable could be softer. Great for jazz and acoustic.

I like how the DSP handles different genres. Switching presets via Moondrop Link 2.0 is intuitive, and the 32‑bit/384‑kHz support means my hi‑res tracks sound wonderful.
