Kinera has developed excellent SPD technology, within which they designed a square-shaped planar magnetic driver. The latest version of Pandamon 2.0 is equipped with 10mm SPD 2.0 drivers on each side. Compared to other planar magnetic drivers, SPD 2.0 has a compact design, higher sensitivity, smooth three-frequency characteristics, and clear high resolution.
The driver accurately conveys sound and does everything possible to provide precise and clear sound. The bass in these headphones is expressive, deep, but decays quite quickly. It is punchy and dense. The vocals stand out against the rich and precise sound, maintaining the overall music visualization. The mid-frequency range is flat, with a slight emphasis on the upper mid frequencies. The soundstage is wide and dynamic, with an emphasis on percussion instruments. You can hear each instrument separately, piano, guitar, or drum kit as individual layers.
The housings are made of semi-transparent resin. The faceplates are hand-painted by an artist. The shell size is small. The sound guide has a medium diameter and a small height. It is covered with a signature metal mesh in the shape of petals. Through the inner part of the shells, you can see the square planar and a pair of acoustic tubes.
Overall, Pandamon 2.0 is a good entry-level planar IEM, offering an interesting and vibrant sound. They have a warm, balanced sound and provide pleasant listening experiences.
