The KEF KC92 subwoofer is relatively compact yet delivers significant sound pressure and reproduces deep bass. It's an excellent choice for use with large floor-standing speakers in stereo systems or home theaters. The KC92 comes in a lacquer finish in a damped enclosure with rounded corners, blending well with any interior and offering flexibility in placement.
One of the standout features of the KEF KC92 is the installation of two oppositely directed bass drivers housed coherently within the unit. This setup enhances bass output, ensures more uniform distribution in the room, and eliminates cabinet vibrations that could distort sound. The woofers, equipped with hybrid aluminum and paper diaphragms and ventilated voice coils to prevent overheating, have suspensions made using the P-Flex technology for an elastic, resonance-resistant structure. This design allows the diaphragms to move quickly without producing unwanted noises.
The built-in amplifiers of the KEF KC92 provide a total power of 2 x 500W. Sound control, depending on the selected mode and content, is managed by the proprietary Music Integrity Engine (MIE) processor. One of its algorithms, Intelligent Bass Extension, analyzes the signal and adjusts the subwoofer's operation for deep and detailed bass. There is a switch for selecting one of the five correction modes for different placement scenarios.
The KEF KC92 is equipped with linear and speaker inputs. The SmartConnect system ensures proper operation of the linear connection section. Additionally, there is a connector for the wireless KW1 kit receiver (sold separately). Power management is handled through a 12-volt trigger input and signal presence recognition.
