Genelec S360AP Rack (often designated as S360AP-R) is a high-SPL, master-class Smart Active Monitor (SAM) system designed for demanding midfield monitoring, post-production, film dubbing stages, and premium immersive audio setups. The "Rack" edition features a specialized factory configuration where the internal power amplifiers are housed entirely in a separate 2 RU rackmount chassis, leaving the speaker cabinet passive. This architectural design isolates heat and electronics from the cabinet, allowing the monitor to be easily flush-mounted or integrated deep into studio walls and tightly confined spaces.
Transducers and High-SPL Output
Housed in a premium, low-diffraction wood enclosure, the monitor features an enhanced 10-inch high-efficiency woofer and a 1-inch titanium diaphragm compression tweeter. The compression driver is integrated into an extended Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW™). This configuration delivers an outstanding short-term maximum sound pressure level of 118 dB SPL with an exceptional listening distance capability exceeding 10 meters (33 feet). The system delivers neutral, flat audio imaging with a deep frequency response stretching from 36 Hz to 22 kHz (-6 dB).
Dual Class-D Amplification and Smart DSP
The remote 2 RU amplifier module delivers high-headroom, bi-amplified Class-D power: 250 W for the bass driver and 100 W for the treble compression driver. As an integral part of the SAM family, the onboard DSP links directly with Genelec Loudspeaker Manager (GLM) software via dual RJ45 control network ports. This integration enables automated room calibration, which precisely eliminates room acoustic anomalies, adjusts boundary reflections, and ensures perfect phase linearity—essential when the cabinet is flush-mounted or embedded in custom studio structures.
Connectivity and Physical Footprint
Audio Input/Output: Features 1 x XLR analog input, 1 x digital AES/EBU input, and 1 x digital AES/EBU output/thru port for flexible multi-channel daisy-chaining.
Control Ports: Dual RJ45 ports handle the proprietary GLM control network.
