It is highly optimized for professional mixing studios, broadcast control rooms, and post-production environments deploying advanced multichannel surround formats such as 9.1.6 or Dolby Atmos.
Digital Connectivity and Technical Design
The device handles up to 16 channels of digital inputs and outputs simultaneously, with all routing formatted under the professional AES/EBU (AES3) standard. It delivers immaculate signal throughput supporting a word length of 16-bit to 24-bit and a flexible sample rate spectrum ranging from 32 kHz to 192 kHz. The physical layout is engineered around industrial standard pinouts to maximize ease of integration. The 9301B provides an outstandingly compact architecture, weighing a light 2 kg and taking up just 1 U of standard 19-inch rack space (43 x 483 x 105 mm).
Hardware Interfaces and Smart Automation
Inputs: Equipped with 2 x DB25 connectors wired via the industry-standard Tascam AES59-2012 protocol, with each single port processing 8 channels of input data.
Outputs: Features 1 x DB25 connector mapping all 16 digital channels back to the monitor array, alongside 1 x dedicated XLR subwoofer output link to feed the bass-managed low-frequency content directly to the sub.
System Control: Incorporates dual RJ45 control network connectors that route straight into the Genelec Loudspeaker Manager (GLM™) software environment for holistic room calibration and monitoring management.
Power Efficiency: Houses Intelligent Signal Sensing (ISS) technology, which automatically forces the unit into a sub-1W power-saving state during periods of silent input.
By chaining a secondary 9301B interface with multiple 7300 subwoofers, the ecosystem can scale effortlessly to drive gigantic configurations up to 32 discrete digital channels, matching the rigorous technical demands of massive 22.2 cinema arrays.
