Diamond Dome Tweeter
Incorporating the most advanced and innovative speaker technology, the 803 D5 provides the purest sound in the world. The diamond dome tweeter raises the breakup frequency to 70 kHz, providing exceptional purity, accuracy, and openness.
Continuum Cone

Midrange Enclosure
Each floor-standing speaker in the Diamond series 800 features a special midrange driver that incorporates four key Bowers & Wilkins technologies: Continuum Cone, FST, biomimetic suspension, and midrange decoupling, ensuring minimal interference from the speaker's bass drivers.
Biomimetic Suspension
Sometimes, unconventional thinking is needed to make a significant change. For decades, engineers believed that nothing could improve the sound of famous yellow aramid midrange drivers, but eventually, the Continuum technology changed that opinion. Now, engineers have turned their attention to another important element of the speaker cone - the fabric "spider." Biomimetic suspension revolutionizes the characteristics of the midrange cone, significantly reducing unwanted air pressure and coloring that a regular fabric "spider" can create. The result? Midrange transparency that you wouldn't believe is possible.
Enhanced Matrix Technology
The Matrix bracing uses interconnected panels to strengthen the internal walls of the speaker cabinets in all directions, reducing resonance and creating a more lifelike soundstage. Each new Diamond series 800 model features an improved matrix design that combines robust plywood construction and aluminum fixings to reinforce key load points.
Backward Contoured Cabinet
Unlike flat speakers with curved backs, the Diamond series 800 cabinets feature a continuous curved design fixed in place by a sturdy aluminum stand. Fewer joints provide a more rigid and inert construction, while the contoured front panel reduces interference around the drive units, improving sound dispersion and reducing cabinet reflections.
Spatial Frame Mounting
As an additional enhancement to the extremely rigid Diamond series 800 cabinets, new D5 models feature aluminum guides for spatial frame mounting on the back of each cabinet. These highly rigid structures further protect the cabinet from unwanted mechanical vibrations, creating an even more spacious and immersive soundstage.
Enhanced Mass Damping Base
The aluminum bases of all Diamond series 800 floor-standing speakers are equipped with a limited-layer damping system and mass damping adjustable dampers, individually optimized for the mechanical resonances of each driver. This reduces unwanted cabinet coloration and provides a cleaner low-frequency output.
Upgraded Crossover
The 800 series features upgraded crossovers mounted on rigid aluminum posts. This isolates sensitive capacitors from unwanted air pressure effects inside the cabinet, creating a highly efficient radiator for optimal performance.
