What is OpenAudio?
OpenAudio is a proprietary Bose technology that plays audio a short distance from your ear canal, detailed and private—without sealing your ear. Each earbud uses a tiny dipole transducer system engineered for loud and clear personal audio that stays at the ear instead of going everywhere else. This minimizes sound leakage and improves audio quality while simultaneously allowing you to remain fully aware of your surroundings.
Open Earbuds with Unique Ergonomics
Open Earbuds were designed from the ground up to give you a soundtrack for your life, letting you enjoy your music without blocking your ears, in a shape so comfortable you can almost forget you’re wearing any earbuds at all. The engineering of these earbuds was a matter of squeezing Bose OpenAudio technology—which projects deep, rich sound across a short distance of open space to your ear canal—into a shape that could grip your ear extremely gently, leaving your ear open to outside sounds. This design process resulted in the Open Earbuds’ unique shape, inspired by earcuff jewelry. The light-as-air flex arm connects the audio portion of the earbud to a battery barrel that goes behind your ear, providing just enough grip to keep the earbuds secure on any size ear.
Bose Immersive Audio
Bose Immersive Audio goes beyond special effects. It creates a wider, more spacious soundstage, so your content becomes multidimensional and layered, regardless of the audio platform or device. It brings you closer to your music than ever by virtually seating you right in the acoustic sweet spot, for spatialized sound that can be generated from any audio content. Ultra Open Earbuds works in tandem with OpenAudio tech. This is thanks to the open nature of OpenAudio, allowing you to listen to your audio the way you do in a real concert—with your ears uncovered—creating a sense of live sound that is even more compelling than with non-open-ear headphones.
Stay Charged and Never Miss a Beat
Each earbud provides up to 7.5 hours of playback (four hours with Immersive Audio) or up to 48 hours on standby. With the included charging case, you can get an extra 2.5 full charges (roughly 19.5 hours), for a total of 27 hours of playback (16.5 with Immersive Audio). You can also get two hours of extra playtime from a 10-minute fast charge.
Optimized for Android
Designed for Android users, Snapdragon Sound optimizes Qualcomm audio technologies across connected devices to ensure the best sound quality, connection stability, and latency for your streaming audio. This mode is ideal for gaming with your earbuds and your Android device. Also for Android users, Bose Ultra Open Earbuds utilize Google Fast Pair; a technology developed by Google to expedite the initial pairing process between Android devices and earbuds.
Press, Play, Enjoy
