The Austrian Audio OC818 microphones are equally suitable for recording speech, vocals, acoustic instruments, or drums. They feature handmade inch ceramic capsules with gold-plated diaphragms. Five switchable polar patterns of the microphones and a wide frequency response range ensure quality, balanced, and rich sound. A particular advantage of the model is the effective combination of high sensitivity and low self-noise levels of the microphones.
To eliminate possible distortions when connecting loud sound sources such as drums or guitar cabinets, use the built-in -10 or -20 dB pad. To attenuate low frequencies and neutralize the proximity effect, a low-frequency attenuator at 40/80/160 Hz is used.
Both OC818 microphones are housed in stylish and elegant ergonomic-shaped compact bodies. They are made of a specially durable yet lightweight zinc-aluminum alloy with a black powder coating.
The OCS8 shock mounts securely attach to microphone stands with a 3/8-5/8-inch threaded connection. The adjustable tilt angle optimizes the process of working with microphones, reducing any vibrations and noises that may occur during work. The OCW8 gray acoustic foam windscreens are included in the kit to protect the capsules from moisture and debris.
The OCH8 holders are made of impact-resistant plastic and metal. The SB-1 double mounting bar also facilitates the stereo recording process. All elements of the set are packed in an aluminum case, equipped with a foam insert with corresponding recesses inside.
