    Description

TEAC HA-507 is a fully analog balanced headphone amplifier and preamplifier that is part of the famous compact Hi-Fi Reference 500 series of components from TEAC. It is designed for users who strive to achieve the purest analog sound and fully unleash the potential of their headphones, regardless of their sensitivity or impedance. The device stands out for its uncompromising circuitry focused solely on processing the analog signal without the use of digital circuits.

At the heart of the HA-507 is a powerful Class AB analog amplifier implemented using the signature "dual mono" configuration with a fully balanced design. Four powerful amplification elements are used in each channel, originally developed for driving full-size loudspeakers. This architecture delivers exceptional power: up to 6700mW + 6700mW when connected to balanced headphones with an impedance of 32 ohms. This performance allows the amplifier to effortlessly drive even the most demanding high-impedance or low-sensitivity headphone models while preserving the refined texture of music.

Special attention is given to the power supply system. The amplifier utilizes two independent power sources - one for audio circuits and the other for control circuits. A large toroidal transformer dedicated to audio has separate windings for the left and right channels and is coupled with high-capacity capacitors (18,800uF per channel) for quick response to dynamic changes in music.

Volume control is achieved through the enhanced TEAC-QVCS (Quad-channel Volume Control System), which uses a stepped resistor ladder network for precise volume adjustment in 0.25dB increments. This ensures excellent channel separation and minimal noise levels. Additionally, a gain switch function is implemented (high/medium/low), allowing the user to precisely match the output signal to the specific headphones being used.

The housing is made of compact yet durable A4-sized aluminum with a semi-floating 2.8mm thick top panel to minimize vibrations and enhance natural sound. The rear panel features various inputs and outputs, including two balanced XLR and two unbalanced RCA inputs, as well as corresponding preamplifier outputs, enabling the HA-507 to be used as a purely analog preamplifier in a larger audio system. A full range of headphone outputs is provided: balanced 4-pin XLR and 4.4mm Pentaconn, as well as unbalanced 6.3mm and 3.5mm jacks.
