The SSL UC1 is a hardware controller designed for the SSL Native Channel Strip 2 and Bus Compressor 2 studio plugins. It simplifies mixing workflows and allows for complete control over all plugin functions from the front panel. Fully integrated with the SSL 360° virtual console, the controller is compatible with DAWs such as Logic Pro, Cubase, Ableton Live, Studio One, and Reaper.
The controller interacts with running instances of SSL plugins and can manage all available parameters using a similar set of physical buttons and knobs with infinite scrolling and level indicators. Featuring an EQ section, low/high-pass filters, 2 compressors, a gate, and a small display, the control elements allow for switching between SSL Native instances, adjusting routing, recalling and saving presets. The UC1 works alongside the SSL 360 Plug-in Mixer software, which is supplied as a standalone mixer application that recognizes running VST/AU/AAX SSL plugins. Additionally, it offers plugin control from multiple DAWs and is also compatible with SSL UF8.
Equipped with dedicated controls for channel EQ and dynamics adjustment, a central section with compressor bus control components, and an original gain reduction meter, the UC1 offers a unique, intuitive, and effective way to control the SSL Native Channel Strip 2 and Bus Compressor 2 plugins in your DAW.
The layout of knobs, switches, and groupings on the UC1 provides the ergonomic feel of professional SSL consoles, easily integrating with the signature Channel Strip and Bus Compressor plugins. The controller allows for simultaneous control over a large number of settings, providing a production tool that builds muscle memory and ensures flexibility in sound control.
The UC1 provides specialized controls for all vital Channel Strip 2 plugin parameters. The EQ, filters, compressor, and gate/expander controls offer the same configuration and visual feedback as wide-format SSL consoles, allowing for quick focus on channel processing.
Based on digital modeling of the renowned XL 9000K console, SSL Native Channel Strip 2 comes equipped with everything needed to achieve modern sound in your DAW. Developed by SSL's team of developers at the Oxford headquarters, SSL Native plugins have exclusive access to original data tables and specifications used to create the consoles.
The Bus Compressor control elements directly interact with the SSL Native Bus Compressor 2 plugin. The original layout creates the sensation of controlling a hardware bus compressor integrated into the SSL console's central section.

Digital workstations such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Cubase/Nuendo, Ableton Live, Studio One, and REAPER officially support UC1 and the Plug-in Mixer. While other DAWs have not been tested with the UC1/Plug-in Mixer system, the Channel Strip 2 and Bus Compressor 2 plugins will function "standalone" with any DAW AU/VST/VST3.
