The Solid State Logic BiG SiX is a 12-channel mixing console with super analog and a 16x16 USB audio interface, combining the proven features of SSL's legendary large format consoles over 40 years with user-requested enhancements from the SiX mini mixer. It offers high-quality SSL sound signature, powerful analog processing, and a versatile configuration that looks equally good at home, in the studio, or on the road.
It features four mono input channels, each containing a console-grade microphone preamp with phantom power, high-pass filter, and up to 72 dB of gain, as well as a line / Hi-Z 1/4" input and four stereo input channels. Mono channels have single-knob compressors, 3-band EQ, and balanced inserts for flexible internal and external processing, with all channels equipped with smooth 100mm faders.
Fully equipped for use as a hub during recording sessions, the BiG SiX includes an XLR talkback microphone input with selectable phantom power, LMC (SSL's mic listen compressor), and adjustable output level. Separate feedback buttons allow sending feedback signal to one of two cue buses or both, which can be derived from the cue send channel or external inputs. Connect 1/4" foldback outputs on the rear panel to headphone amplifiers and studio headphones to headphone jacks on the top panel.
Upon completion of recording, this desktop console provides summing of 18 inputs during mixing. With a stereo G-Series compressor on the main mix bus, pre-fader mix insert, and alternative B bus (ideal for parallel compression mixing), BiG SiX handles the most demanding mixing styles. Additionally, its extensive master section allows you to set up two sets of monitors, select audio source, and easily access mono, dim, and mute functions.
