The Ultraviolet (UV EQ) stereo equalizer utilizes the well-known Violet stereo equalizer section with minimal phase shift from Fusion and translates it into the 500 series format, while also adding two fully parametric SSL mid-frequency equalizers with a precise "focus" mode for maximum flexibility of the 500 series equalizer and tonal control. The UV EQ is the perfect partner for the SSL G-COMP Stereo Bus Compressor module, offering extended SSL processing in 500 series modules.
In addition to the violet, there is an Ultraviolet equalizer.
In addition to the Fusion violet equalizer, the UV EQ expands capabilities by adding two dedicated mid-range bands with a precise focus mode. These are classic SSL parametric mid frequencies capable of working with traditional SSL processing methods, but also going far beyond them, offering absolute surgical precision up to creative "notch" style filtering and resonant sound playback.
Focus mode
The focus mode allows users to "refine" problematic frequencies or specific frequencies they want to emphasize or weaken. Pressing the "Focus" button further narrows the selected Q setting and increases the gain range beyond the usual +/-9 dB mode, to a huge +/-18 dB. The truly flexible SSL equalizer transforms this pleasant-sounding musical SSL equalizer into a more responsive tool.
HPF & Trim
By eliminating noise and boosting low frequencies, the high-frequency UV EQ equalizer provides greater flexibility in processing low frequencies. Interacting with the low shelving band offers unique ways to process signals, and yes, the UV EQ can achieve the desired boost + cut effect. Special trim control means you can use converters with a wide range or notch them to the perfect size when trimming is needed.
