Over the past decade, vinyl has experienced a phenomenal resurgence from an outdated format to one of the coolest ways to enjoy music. However, many have not yet transitioned to vinyl because they don't want to spend a lot of money on a new turntable or fear that the setup will be too complicated. The Pro-Ject E1.2 is inspired by the design of the very first Pro-Ject 1 model released in 1991 - an affordable and user-friendly audiophile-grade turntable.
The Pro-Ject E1.2 is designed in the spirit of the original Pro-Ject 1. It is a simple and reliable vinyl player, but unlike many popular entry-level models with a long list of features, the E1.2 gets back to basics - no Bluetooth, USB, built-in phono preamp, or automatic shut-off. The E1.2 is built on technologies used in higher-class Pro-Ject turntables: a sturdy chassis, precision tonearm, and quality main platter with sub platter. This turntable delivers maximum sound quality and performance for its price, focusing on essential features.
Despite its affordable price, the E1.2 remains a turntable that is entirely handcrafted in Europe. Since it lacks a built-in phono preamp, the turntable can be directly connected to devices with a built-in phono preamp (integrated amplifier/receiver or active speakers). The company also offers a choice of dedicated phono preamps in the Design Box series.

Main Platter
The 730g main platter is made of cast aluminum and features a damping ring made of thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) for stable rotation with improved resonance and vibration characteristics. The sub platter is made of ABS plastic reinforced with fiberglass, which rotates with increased speed accuracy and less resonance.
Tonearm with Pre-installed Cartridge
The turntable's tonearm features a massive gimbal bearing for smooth operation. It is equipped with a carbon fiber-reinforced shell for additional rigidity and the Pick it MM E cartridge of a new lightweight design with a conical profile diamond stylus. The cartridge is pre-adjusted and installed at the factory.
The phono preamp is one of the most sound-shaping and important acoustic parts of a turntable. It converts the physical characteristics of the record into an electrical signal, defining the basic quality of music reproduction. The Pick it MM E utilizes a low-mass system implemented with a miniature neodymium magnet generator. This significantly increases tracking accuracy due to reduced inertia.
The conical diamond stylus provides warm and smooth playback of high-quality sound with low background noise. The ABS plastic housing with high damping effectively reduces coloration caused by vibration to the point of complete elimination.
The base of the E1.2 is made on a CNC machine from solid composite fiber and is available in glossy black, satin white, or walnut colors. It features damping feet for vibration isolation.
