Pro-Ject Debut PRO B is a popular belt-driven turntable with a tonearm made of aluminum and carbon, equipped with a Pick it PRO B cartridge. It features a support disk made of cast aluminum, as well as a mini-XLR connector. The unit includes a cast aluminum support disk and an electronic speed switch for vinyl rotation.
Pro-Ject Debut PRO B is the successor to the popular Debut Pro model. Unlike its predecessor, the Pro-Ject Debut PRO B turntable is designed according to the True Balanced signal transmission concept. It is equipped with a Pick it PRO B cartridge suitable for balanced connection, as well as an additional mini-XLR connector. The turntable is manufactured at the company's own factory in Europe.
The Pro-Ject Debut PRO features the company's signature 8.6-inch tonearm made of carbon and aluminum. The carbon layer provides high rigidity to the tonearm, while the inner aluminum tube acts as a damper. Lightweight and rigid, the tonearm ensures precise tracking of the cartridge needle in the record groove. The tonearm allows for azimuth and vertical tracking angle (VTA) adjustment.
The Pro-Ject Debut PRO B turntable (Pick it PRO B) features unbalanced RCA and balanced mini-XLR outputs. When connected to a balanced phono preamp (e.g., Phono Box S3 B), you will experience a fully balanced circuit, providing advantages such as extended dynamic range, low noise levels, and high sound detail. You will hear nuances in familiar music that you never knew existed.
The turntable comes with a Pick it PRO B cartridge, the first moving magnet (MM-type) cartridge in Pro-Ject's catalog with the ability for balanced connection to a compatible phono preamp. The cartridge is produced in collaboration with the reputable Danish company Ortofon. The Pick it PRO B cartridge features a diamond stylus with an elliptical tip for accurate playback.
The turntable chassis is made of MDF for optimal vibration isolation. An 8-layer coating is hand-applied at the factory to the chassis. The turntable housing is resistant to mechanical damage.
The Pro-Ject Debut PRO B is easily leveled on any surface, thanks to adjustable height metal feet dampened with TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) to eliminate unwanted vibrations.
The aluminum disk of the Debut PRO B turntable is precision balanced for stable rotation. The non-magnetic material of the disk allows the use of MC cartridges. A TPE ring is installed on the inner side of the support disk to dampen unwanted vibrations and resonances. This approach increases the mass of the disk and contributes to smooth rotation.
The precision and stability of the turntable rotation is ensured by Pro-Ject's proprietary electronic design. Changing the rotation speed from 33 ⅓ to 45 RPM is as simple as flipping a miniature switch. A speed of 78 RPM can be achieved by moving the belt on the motor pulley.
