The Connect It DS interconnect cables use a highly purified OFC copper conductor. The shielding is done with an OFC copper braid with a TPE conducting shield, providing excellent protection against interference while maintaining the cable's flexibility.
For a cable, the conductor is important, as well as the cable's dielectric, shielding, and manufacturing quality. The dielectric determines the cable's capacitance, which is crucial. Air is technically the best dielectric, but it is not practical for real-world use. Pro-Ject uses polyethylene (PE), which has excellent insulating properties. The Connect It DS and RS series cables use a flexible cellular PE, ensuring low cable capacitance.
All connectors in the DS-Line cables have silver-plated contacts, providing higher conductivity compared to gold-plated connectors. Silver may oxidize over time, but the oxide of silver has the same conductivity as silver itself.
