Vertex Diamond Diamond Stylus: a completely new signature needle profile with optimized linear contact geometry. The scanning radius is just 4 µm, and the contact radius is a record-breaking 110 µm. This ensures maximum contact area with the track walls, perfect tracking, and minimal wear on your vinyl.
Solid Diamond Cantilever: a rigid and super-lightweight design ensures instant and accurate transmission of vibration energy from the needle to the generator without losses.
SLM Titanium Body with DLC Coating: the base and inner core are made using selective laser melting (3D printing in titanium). A carbon diamond-like coating (DLC) is applied on top. This structure completely dampens unwanted mechanical resonances. This advanced manufacturing method allows Ortofon to control wall thickness, material density, and internal geometry with precision unmatched by traditional production methods. A specially designed internal chamber structure further enhances damping characteristics to help suppress unwanted resonances and vibrations before they affect the music signal.
The MC Vertex model features one of the most advanced generator systems ever created by Ortofon. At its core is a non-magnetic armature that provides a stable mechanical platform without creating magnetic interference in the moving system. With coils made of high-purity silver and precision winding, they operate with exceptional stability and accuracy in an optimized magnetic field.
A patented technology by Ortofon, the Wide Range Damping system uses a platinum disc placed between two specially designed rubber pads with different mechanical characteristics. This complex damping system controls resonance across the audible frequency range while maintaining excellent dynamic responsiveness.
