Neumann NDH 30 - open-back studio headphones designed for editing, mixing, and mastering. This model aims to replicate the sound of studio monitors and is also capable of assisting in creating binaural mixes for virtual reality, games, and other musical and sound production environments.
Features:
- linear sound similar to Neumann's perfectly calibrated acoustical system
- high-resolution stereo panorama with precise localization
- transparent, detailed sound field ideal for mixing and mastering
- winner of the TEC Award 2023
- comfortable memory foam ear pads
- sound pressure level of 104 dB
- maximum input power of 1000 mW
The NDH 30 were developed to achieve the reference sound of Neumann studio monitors, easily transportable as headphones. At the same time, the NDH 30 establishes its own sound standard in terms of headphone reproduction, which has been key to its success with consumers. Its excellent sound characteristics make the NDH 30 the ideal choice for mixing and mastering. The high long-term comfort also makes it perfect for precise editing.
Constructed with high-quality materials such as spring steel and aluminum, the NDH 30 shares many user-friendly features with the NDH 20. However, the NDH 30 is an open-backed headphone, meaning its 38mm dynamic drivers function as acoustic dipoles. This helps optimize their high-precision sound characteristics: extremely fast transient response, dry bass, uncolored mids, and transparent highs. In other words, the NDH 30 reproduces the signal as it is, without coloration.
Uncompromising Precision
The remarkable linearity of the NDH 30 is partly due to its frequency-selective absorbers, which eliminate excessive emphasis on high frequencies that can lead to incorrect mixing in many other headphones. For example, the NDH 30 accurately determines whether a voice sounds muffled or needs amplification.
The NDH 30 provides clear localization in the stereo image and makes the depth of the mix obvious. To minimize crosstalk between channels, the NDH 30 comes with a high-quality fabric-covered cable that is internally balanced.
Mixing started at home or on the go with the NDH 30 can easily be continued in the studio with KH series monitors - and vice versa. The NDH 30 is recommended as a sound reference for headphones; after all, headphones have long been the dominant playback system among consumers. The NDH 30 is ideal for checking headphone compatibility and creating binaural mixes for immersive content (including VR and games). Consistency and reliability are crucial in mixing and mastering, so the NDH 30 is manufactured with extremely strict tolerances to ensure that all headphones sound identical.
