The new Meze Strada headphones are a kind of hybrid between the open dynamic model 109 PRO and the closed planar-magnetic headphones Liric II. Inheriting the driver from the first model and the form of the second.
At the heart of the Meze Strada is a 50mm dynamic driver, created based on the driver from the 109 PRO model and adapted to work in a closed casing. The membrane is made of a carbon fiber-reinforced cellulose composite, which increases rigidity and reduces distortion. The surrounding torus is made of a semi-crystalline polymer with a beryllium PVD coating, and the system of inclined grooves and stabilizing ring made of a copper-zinc alloy are designed to control resonances and improve attack.
The sound tuning of the Strada is aimed at a neat and articulate character. The low frequencies have a moderate lift, adding weight and body without dominating. The mid-range is claimed to be neutral and transparent, with a clear transmission of vocals and acoustic instruments, and the high frequencies are detailed and extended, but without tiring sharpness. The impedance of the model is 40 ohms, frequency range is 5 - 30,000 Hz, sensitivity is 111 dB, weight is 330 grams.
Structurally, the model is inspired by the LIRIC series. The cups are made of Macassar ebony wood, each pair having a unique pattern. The magnesium frame is painted in a dark green metallic color, and the earpads are attached with magnets for quick replacement. The Strada is completely repairable: all key elements can be replaced separately, emphasizing Meze Audio's focus on durability and conscious ownership.
