The Meze Audio company has released the second generation Liric headphones, which feature improved characteristics, a new finish made of striped Macassar ebony wood, and a more modular design to facilitate upgrades.

The Meze Liric II headphones are equipped with advanced planar magnetic technology developed by Rinaro and redesigned for everyday use. The Isodynamic Hybrid Array driver has been reduced and tuned to provide sound quality comparable to larger models like the Empyrean and Elite.
The sound profile of the Liric II is said to be tuned to offer a compelling combination of clean, accurate sound with a touch of warmth for added depth. Meze claims the sound signature falls between a balanced and warm profile.
The design of the 2nd generation Meze Liric II headphones has also become warmer: the leather-covered ear cups of the Liric have been replaced with striped Macassar ebony wood cups. They combine the exquisite texture of wood with the luxury and durability provided by solid wood.
