The Hegel H400 Streamliner integrated amplifier occupies the second position in the company's lineup after the flagship Hegel H600, from which it inherited many features. This newcomer replaces the Hegel H390 integrated amplifier in the company's nomenclature.

The Hegel H400 Streamliner integrated amplifier is a classic class A/B amplifier that delivers an impressive 250W per channel for speakers with a nominal impedance of 8 ohms. Despite its compact size - measuring not more than 43cm in width, 44cm in depth, and 15cm in height - it weighs a substantial 20kg.
Designed with a "dual mono" concept in balanced circuitry, the Hegel H400 Streamliner boasts an exceptionally high damping factor reaching 4,000 units, ensuring perfect control over almost any speaker system. To achieve the highest sound quality without distortion, the amplifier features the proprietary Hegel SoundEngine 2 technology.
The amplifier's connectivity options include multiple inputs for both analog and digital sources. For analog sources, there are two unbalanced RCA inputs and one balanced XLR input. Digital connectivity includes coaxial and three optical interfaces, along with a BNC port and USB-B. Coaxial and BNC ports support PCM digital streams up to 24-bit/192kHz, while optical inputs are limited to 24-bit/96kHz resolution.
Maximum resolution can be achieved by connecting to the USB-B port - supporting up to 32-bit/384kHz, as well as DSD up to DSD 256. In addition to adjustable analog output via RCA connectors and a linear output, there is a digital output on a BNC connector.
The Hegel H400 Streamliner integrated amplifier features a network streamer with support for Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Google Chromecast, Apple AirPlay 2, and TuneIn. Additionally, the manufacturer promises that the new model will be Roon-ready certified, allowing it to operate within the Roon Labs LLC ecosystem. For the first time, the Hegel H400 Streamliner includes the proprietary Hegel Control app for controlling all amplifier functions, including the network streamer.
