Compact two-way active Genelec G One monitors can be used in both two-channel (including desktop) audio systems and home theaters. Due to their limited bass range, these speakers are best paired with an active subwoofer, such as the Genelec F One or F Two.
The Genelec G One monitors feature a die-cast aluminum enclosure designed in collaboration with the renowned Finnish designer Harri Koskinen. Thanks to its rounded corners and proprietary Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW) high-frequency acoustic design, the cabinet delivers exceptionally low diffraction, allowing the Genelec G One to literally dissolve into the soundstage. Furthermore, the speaker's focused directivity pattern makes it highly effective as a nearfield monitor, which is why the G One is a frequent choice for equipping home recording studios.
The Genelec G One is equipped with a high-excursion 3-inch woofer, loaded into a rear-ported bass reflex enclosure. The reflex tube spans almost the entire height of the cabinet from bottom to top, ensuring optimal efficiency. The high-frequency driver features a 20 mm dome.
These drivers are powered by separate power amplifiers, with the signal fed from an active crossover network tuned to 3 kHz. This design ensures minimal phase distortion, a smooth frequency response, and seamless driver integration across the crossover band. True to Genelec tradition, the G One features room response controls to tune the low-frequency performance based on the listening environment. One specific toggle optimizes the sound for desktop placement, while others attenuate the low frequencies by 2, 4, or 6 dB. An RCA input is located on the rear panel, angled to make the cable connection as discreet as possible.
The speakers include an original Iso-Pod vibration-isolating stand for desktop placement, and the G One can also be wall-mounted using dedicated brackets.
