The subwoofer is equipped with a down-firing 205 mm bass driver, loaded into a bass reflex enclosure. The reflex port is also routed to the bottom panel of the device. The driver features a high-excursion cone alongside an efficient magnet system and is paired with a 150 W power amplifier. The subwoofer is capable of delivering bass reproduction in a room starting at 27 Hz, which is an outstanding specification for a device of such compact dimensions.
The shape and material of the enclosure, combined with its deep internal damping, allow the Genelec F Two to sound clear and uncolored across its entire operating frequency range, even at the highest playback volumes. The subwoofer is equipped with six unbalanced RCA inputs for connection to a surround sound processor, as well as two balanced inputs for stereo signals. This significantly enhances the deployment flexibility of the Genelec F Two across various installations, allowing for an optimal connection method.
Additionally, the subwoofer features five outputs for active satellite speakers, supplemented by a dedicated pass-through connector to link an additional subwoofer, as well as two balanced outputs for stereo monitors. Genelec recommends pairing the F Two with G One or G Two loudspeakers to build a home theater system, or with G Three monitors for a dedicated stereo setup.
To further increase power and bass depth, two of these subwoofers can be utilized together, making such a configuration suitable for pairing with the larger G Four loudspeakers. The audio signal is routed to the satellite speakers with a high-pass filter set at 85 Hz; therefore, the surround sound processor operating in the system must be configured to pass full-range signals across all channels.
The bottom panel of the unit features an input level control, along with toggle switches for absolute signal phase and input filter roll-off. The F Two also comes complete with a remote control, allowing users to adjust the volume as well as turn the subwoofer on and off.
