Fostex set out to preserve the exquisite timbre of flagships TH910/TH919, but to abandon the traditional lacquered finish. The result was the choice of acacia wood - a wood known for its noble resonance and widely used in the production of high-class guitars and ukuleles.
The nobility of sound and materials: carefully selected acacia wood provides that density of bass and crystal clear high frequencies. The absence of lacquer allows you to feel the natural texture of the wood, while maintaining exemplary acoustic characteristics.
Fostex TH818: Perfection of Open Design
The open model TH818 is a combination of premium wood and high metal processing technologies: the outer part of the casing is made of matte anodized aluminum with a unique lattice pattern. The two-layer mesh structure, created using precision laser cutting, guarantees perfect airflow balance.

20% lighter: main mechanical parts - base of the casing and cup holders - are made of a high-tech magnesium alloy. This has reduced the weight of the construction by 20% compared to traditional aluminum, providing comfort even during extended use.
No unnecessary vibrations: special rubber pads (dampers) are installed in the swivel mechanisms. They effectively dampen unwanted resonances, ensuring sound purity with any head movement.
Innovative Earpads and Genuine Leather
Two-layer memory effect: the new earpads have an anatomical shape and a unique filler structure. The outer soft layer instantly adjusts to the face shape, while the inner highly elastic layer provides secure fixation and proper acoustic isolation.
The finish of the earpads is made of an innovative material that is three times more durable than standard counterparts. The inner part made of low-elasticity urethane consists of two layers: soft on the outside and very elastic on the inside to match the face shape. Moreover, the use of silk protein synthetic leather, which is three times stronger than standard materials, provides a comfortable fit. The headband and cushions are made of soft, elastic premium sheepskin leather. This noble material offers exceptional comfort during long music listening sessions.

For maximum sound transparency and benchmark dynamics in both internal wiring and the included cable, the highest grade 7N (99.99999%) oxygen-free copper is used, minimizing any signal loss.
