FiiO FD7 is currently the best model of dynamic headphones by the company. The main feature of these headphones is the new pure beryllium diaphragm. This material is perhaps the most valuable in the production of dynamic headphones and is usually only used as a thin layer due to its high cost. Beryllium is 4 times harder than steel and 4 times lighter than titanium, it has higher transient characteristics compared to titanium drivers.
Next to the pure beryllium driver in the FD7, there is an acoustic prism system that solves problems related to the time delay between different sound waves. It effectively modifies and precisely controls the way sound waves pass through the FD7 to improve the propagation of high-frequency waves and ensure phase accuracy of the sound.
In line with its flagship status, the FD7 headphones come standard with three pairs of interchangeable sound filters, each with a different inner diameter for different sound qualities. The red filter enhances the bass, the black filter provides detailed high frequencies, and the green filter allows for deeper penetration into the ear canals when used with dual-flange or triple-flange ear tips for rich detail in ultra-high frequencies.
The high-quality Litz copper cable consists of 4 conductors with a total of 224 strands. The copper strands are coated with pure silver. The FD7 cable was designed with angled extended MMCX connectors, which have undergone numerous ergonomic modifications and improvements to achieve maximum wearing comfort.
