The Crown brings planar precision into a silver-finished in-ear design. Created for listeners who appreciate fine instrumental textures and clearly defined vocals, the EarAcoustic VSA-PM Crown combines a ribbon planar magnetic driver with meticulously finished metal housings and a detachable hybrid-conductor cable. Its acoustic design focuses on preserving subtle musical information while maintaining a coherent, spacious presentation.
11.4mm Ribbon Planar Magnetic Driver
At the heart of the Crown is an 11.4mm planar ribbon driver with a multi-magnet system and a triple-chamber acoustic structure. An exceptionally thin diaphragm carries a precision-etched conductor, while neodymium magnet arrays act on it from both sides. This arrangement is designed to distribute driving force evenly across the diaphragm, supporting controlled movement, rapid response to musical changes and reduced distortion.
The lightweight moving structure helps the driver follow delicate shifts in a recording, from the initial strike of a percussion instrument to the fading resonance of a string. The result is a design focused on both transient definition and the smaller details that give instruments their individual character.
Balanced Detail and Spatial Definition
EarAcoustic’s tuning aims to combine a firm bass foundation with articulate vocals and smoothly extended treble. Low-frequency energy provides weight without overwhelming the midrange, while the upper frequencies are intended to preserve instrumental harmonics and a sense of openness. Accurate placement and separation help listeners follow individual performers within complex arrangements.
The published specifications list a frequency response of 5Hz–40kHz, an impedance of 16Ω and a sensitivity of 105dB. These specifications describe the earphones’ operating characteristics; the extended frequency range does not imply that frequencies beyond normal human hearing are audible.
Sculpted Aluminium Housings
Its textured metal shells give the technical design an unmistakably decorative character. The housings are precision-machined from aviation-grade aluminium alloy, then finished through hammer-pattern texturing, polishing and electroplating. Their reflective silver surface highlights the contours of the metal and the detail of the finish.
A faceted, diamond-cut crown emblem forms the centrepiece of each faceplate, accompanied by gold-coloured VSA-PM lettering. Carefully polished edges complete a design that brings jewellery-inspired detailing to a functional audio component.
Detachable Hybrid-Conductor Cable
The supplied 1.2m cable combines silver-plated 5N and 6N OCC copper, 4N pure silver and silver-plated Furukawa silver-copper alloy conductors. Its internal air-suspension support structure separates and supports the conductors within the cable.
Standard 0.78mm two-pin connectors allow the cable to be removed for replacement or storage. The supplied cable’s 4.4mm balanced plug connects to a compatible audio player, headphone amplifier or DAC with a balanced headphone output.
