The Bowers & Wilkins 803 D5 model is the most compact model in the Diamond 800 series, distinguished by the iconic turbine head configuration. Thanks to its smaller size, it provides the benchmark Bowers & Wilkins sound quality in a wide range of living spaces and listening areas.
From the diamond dome tweeter and optimized drivers to the spatial frame and modernized plinth – all of this purposeful combination of evolution and innovation is housed in an elegant cabinet with exquisite finishes, created in accordance with the principles of sound science. Available in Stealth Black, Warm White, Light Walnut, or Dark Walnut colors, with Connolly leather finish, Bowers & Wilkins 803 D5 are a symbol of both performance and design. The 803 D5 is uncompromising in both performance and design.

Created to be better in design
The Diamond 800 series doesn't just look like that for no reason. Their shape is dictated by the science of sound. The cabinets are designed with a continuous single curve, secured by a robust aluminum stand, reducing reflections from the cabinet. With the built-in tweeter and turbine head, the musical performance is always maximally accurate.
Optimization for achieving the best operational characteristics

All models in the new Diamond 800 series are equipped with enhanced technologies. The enhanced Matrix design reduces resonance and creates a more lifelike soundstage, while the aluminum spatial frame mounts and the completely new aluminum top section of the cabinet provide even more immersive and captivating sound.
Diamond Dome Tweeter

Combining the most advanced and innovative speaker technology, the 803 D5 delivers the purest sound in the world. The diamond dome tweeter increases the breakup frequency to 70 kHz, ensuring exceptional clarity, precision, and openness.
Solid Body
The latest incarnation of the iconic solid-body tweeter at the top has an elongated shape with a system for loading longer tubes and a completely new tweeter grille design, optimized for even more free and open high-frequency sound. As before, the meticulously isolated body is made from a solid aluminum block to better resist resonance.
Continuum Cone
Thanks to its Continuum composite construction, the Continuum cone allows avoiding sharp changes in behavior that can degrade the driver's performance. This results in a more open, neutral sound, providing accuracy and transparency in reproducing voices and instruments.
Turbine Head

Listen to the sound, not the cabinet. The signature solid aluminum turbine head is an exceptionally rigid and inert enclosure for the vital mid-range driver, carefully damped to prevent unwanted resonances and separated from both the low-frequency driver and the tweeter. The result? The most realistic mid-range sound to date.
Optimized Mid and Bass Frequency Driver

With enhanced drivers based on the renowned Signature speaker line, the new bass/mid and mid-frequency drivers in all new Diamond D5 series 800 models deliver cleaner sound with low distortion for a more exact and expressive presentation.
Mid-Range Block
Each Diamond 800 series floor-standing speaker is equipped with a special mid-range diffuser incorporating four key Bowers & Wilkins technologies: Continuum cone, FST, biomimetic suspension, and mid-range decoupling, minimizing interference from the operation of the speaker's bass driver.
Biomimetic Suspension
Sometimes, unconventional thinking is needed to make a significant change. For decades, engineers believed that nothing could improve the sound of the famous yellow aramid fiber mid-range diffusers, but eventually, the Continuum technology changed that. Engineers have now focused on another important element of the speaker cone - the fabric "spider." Biomimetic suspension revolutionizes the characteristics of the mid-range cone, significantly reducing unwanted air pressure and coloring, which a regular fabric spider can create. The result? Mid-range transparency you wouldn't believe possible.
Enhanced Matrix Technology
The interlinked panels in the Matrix mounting strengthen the internal walls of the speaker cabinets in all directions, reducing resonance and creating a more lifelike soundstage. Each new Diamond 800 series model features an improved matrix design, combining a robust plywood construction with aluminum mounts to reinforce key loading points.
Aerofoil-Profile Cabinet

Unlike flat speakers with a curved back, the Diamond 800 series cabinets feature a continuous single curve fixed in place by robust aluminum stands. Fewer joints provide a more rigid and inert construction, and the curved front panel reduces interference around the drive units. This improves sound dispersion and reduces reflections from the cabinet.
Spatial Frame Mounting
As an additional enhancement to the extremely rigid Diamond 800 series cabinets, the new D5 models feature aluminum guides for mounting the spatial frames on the rear wall of each cabinet. These highly rigid structures provide additional protection against unwanted mechanical vibrations, creating an even more spacious and immersive soundstage.
Enhanced Plinth with Adjustable Mass Damping
The aluminum plinths of all Diamond 800 series floor-standing speakers feature a damping system with a limited layer, as well as mass-adjustable shock absorbers individually optimized for the mechanical resonances of each driver. This reduces unwanted cabinet coloration and ensures a cleaner low-frequency output.
Modernized Crossover
The Diamond 800 series utilizes modernized crossovers mounted on sturdy aluminum spikes. This isolates sensitive capacitors from unwanted air pressure inside the cabinet, creating a highly efficient radiator for optimal performance during use.
