The enclosures are made in a continuous curved form, fixed in place by a sturdy aluminum plinth, reducing cabinet reflections. With an integrated tweeter and turbine head, the musical performance is always maximally accurate.

The enhanced Matrix design reduces resonance and creates a more lifelike soundstage, while the aluminum spatial frame mounts and completely new aluminum top section of the cabinet provide even more expansive and captivating sound.
Diamond dome tweeter.
Combining the most advanced and innovative speaker technology, the 802 D5 provides the cleanest sound in the world. The diamond dome tweeter raises the breakup frequency to 70 kHz, ensuring exceptional purity, accuracy, and openness.
Solid body.
The latest iteration of the iconic solid-body tweeter at the top has an elongated shape with a longer tube loading system and a completely new tweeter grille design optimized for even more open and airy sound at high frequencies. The carefully decoupled body is made from a solid aluminum block to better resist resonance.
Continuum Cone.
Thanks to its Continuum composite construction, the Continuum cone avoids sharp changes in behavior that can degrade driver performance. The result is a more open, neutral sound that provides accuracy and transparency of voices and instruments.
Turbine head.
Listen to the sound, not the enclosure. The proprietary turbine head, made of solid aluminum, provides an incredibly rigid and inert enclosure for the essential midrange driver, carefully damped to avoid unwanted resonances and isolated from both the low-frequency driver and tweeter enclosures. The result? The most realistic midrange sound available today.

Thanks to enhanced drivers developed based on the well-known Signature speaker range, new bass/midrange and midrange drivers in all the new Diamond D5 Series 800 models provide cleaner sound with low distortion for a more precise and expressive presentation.
Midrange block.
Each floor-standing Diamond Series 800 speaker features a special midrange driver that includes four key Bowers & Wilkins technologies: Continuum cone, FST, biomimetic suspension, and midrange isolation to minimize interference from the speaker's bass drivers.
Biomimetic suspension.
Sometimes, unconventional thinking is needed to make a radical change. For decades, engineers believed that nothing could improve the sound of the famous yellow aramid fiber midrange drivers, but ultimately, the Continuum technology changed that. Now engineers have turned their attention to another important cone element - the fabric "spider". Biomimetic suspension revolutionizes the midrange cone's characteristics, significantly reducing unwanted air pressure and coloration that a typical fabric "spider" can create. The result? Midrange transparency you wouldn't believe is possible.
Enhanced Matrix technology.
Using interconnected panels to reinforce the internal walls of the speaker cabinets in all directions, the Matrix mounting reduces resonance and creates a more lifelike soundstage. Each Diamond model in the new 800 series features an enhanced matrix construction that combines a robust ply construction and aluminum mounts to reinforce key stress points.
Backward-curved enclosure.
Unlike flat speakers with curved backs, the Diamond Series 800 enclosures have a continuous curved shape fixed in place by a sturdy aluminum stand. Fewer joints provide a stiffer and more inert construction, while the curved front panel reduces interference around drive units, improving sound dispersion and reducing cabinet reflection.
Spatial frame mounting.
As an additional enhancement to the extremely rigid Diamond Series 800 enclosures, the new D5 models feature aluminum brackets mounted on the back wall of each cabinet for spatial frame mounting. These highly rigid structures further protect the enclosure from unwanted mechanical vibrations, creating an even more spacious and captivating soundstage.
Enhanced plinth with adjustable mass damping.
The aluminum plinths of all floor-standing Diamond Series 800 speakers feature a limited-layer damping system, as well as mass-adjustable dampers individually optimized for the mechanical resonances of each individual driver. This reduces unwanted cabinet coloration and ensures cleaner low-frequency output.
Upgraded crossover.
The Diamond Series 800 uses upgraded crossovers mounted on sturdy aluminum spikes. This isolates sensitive capacitors from unwanted air pressure effects inside the enclosure and creates a very effective radiator for optimal performance under load.
