Compact, affordable, high performance

Since its introduction in 2011, the Audiolab M-DAC has changed the perception of affordable audiophile DAC technology. This has led to the integration of Audiolab DACs with a multitude of award-winning and recognized hi-fi components, now evolving into the flagship 9000 series. A pioneer in affordable hi-fi electronics, Audiolab's 6000 and later 7000 series, rooted in the brand's origins, offer globally renowned features at a reasonable price. Following this philosophy of using "trickledown" technology, where thousands of hours were spent developing best-in-class components, the Audiolab D7 is a new desktop DAC that embodies the simplicity and clarity that Audiolab is known for, combining advanced developments in a compact and affordable package.

Convenience in use

Convenience in use

Compact, rugged, and uncompromising in its features, the D7 is designed in line with Audiolab's traditional style. It features an OLED display and an intuitive operating menu that provides instant access to functions and performance capabilities that set it apart from other DACs in its class. Unlike many competitors, the D7's display, menu, and remote control are designed to enhance usability without being constrained by buttons, LEDs, or limited functionality typical at this price point.

Modern chipset set

Modern chipset set

The D7 features the ESS9038Q2M chipset, largely inherited from the Audiolab 7000A digital-to-analog signal conversion technology. This allows connecting digital sources to analog systems – for example, to a compact disc player transport or wireless streamers.

Connectivity options

Connectivity options

The D7 features four S/PDIF inputs – two coaxial and two optical, a USB input for playback from external flash drives, and a USB type-B input for PC, Mac, smartphones, or tablets. It also has coaxial, optical, or RCA analog outputs and fully balanced XLR outputs, making it a versatile digital audio center. It also features Bluetooth reception with support for multiple codecs, including aptX HD, and Bluetooth 5.1 standard to ensure optimal range and speed.

High-resolution audio and full MQA decoding

High-resolution audio and full MQA decoding

The D7 supports high-resolution audio in DSD format up to 22.5792 MHz (DSD512) and 32-bit / 768 kHz PCM via USB or 24-bit / 192 kHz PCM via S/PDIF (optical and coaxial). It is also a full MQA decoder, carrying out the entire decoding process with three unfolds internally, rather than just the final unfold as in an MQA renderer.

32-bit Sabre chipset of the new generation - ES9038Q2M – is a benchmark in DAC standards. However, with a patented scheme allowing for the most efficient use of the ESS HyperStream II architecture, and a jitter elimination device in the time domain to provide ultra-low noise and high dynamic range, Audiolab engineers have a proven track record of implementing this chip to create class-leading digital audio conversion devices.

Upsampling feature

Upsampling feature

Users can increase the sampling rate of digital audio signals to 352.8 kHz or 384 kHz. Thanks to skillfully implemented DAC filter settings, the D7 offers five performance tuning options tailored to the original files or system components. This nuance will be quite handy, considering the vast diversity of supported digital file formats, not to mention headphone users or digital streaming services.

Hi-Fi-level headphone amplifier

Hi-Fi-level headphone amplifier

The D7 features a powerful headphone amplifier with current feedback scheme, making it even more versatile. Like the 7000A, this solution is designed for all types of headphones and provides exceptional sound clarity and drive.

No compromises

No compromises

Crafted in line with the Audiolab 7000 or 6000 series in finish, feel, style, and quality, the aluminum casing and tactile control interface of the D7 provide a comprehensive showcase of Audiolab's work as a premium DAC, boasting unparalleled features, performance, and versatility at this level. Developed following the Audiolab 6000 and 7000 series, the D7's aluminum casing, tactile control, OLED display, and full remote control enhance usability while maintaining the brand's signature style and refined aesthetics. The Audiolab D7 sets a new standard for entry-level DACs, proving that affordability does not mean compromises.
