Alongside the closed-back ATH-M70X, this model is considered the flagship of the professional series. It features 45mm dynamic drivers with special high-efficiency magnets to minimize distortion and provide a wide frequency range up to 40kHz.
The cups are made of a carbon fiber-based composite material that enhances the overall rigidity of the structure. The outer part of the cups is covered with an aluminum mesh featuring cellular perforations, resulting in a natural sound with a wide soundstage.
The Audio-Technica ATH-R70X headphones have a sturdy metal headband and traditionally use the 3D Wing Support mechanism, consisting of two "wings" with soft damping pads that can move in three planes.
