The ADAT-expansion AudioFuse X8 IN provides eight inputs. The device is built around TRS connectors but does not include microphone preamplifiers. It is an effective addition to the previously released 16Rig audio interface, which is equipped with microphone inputs.
The AudioFuse X8 IN features eight balanced analog inputs. Like the X8 OUT model, it includes a Word Clock input and Sync button for signal synchronization. It is worth noting that synchronization works in three modes — Word, ADAT, ADAT SMUX, with the latter providing "signal conversion with the highest quality."
Connect multiple synthesizers, drum machines, and other electronic instruments to record high-quality tracks. Add additional microphone preamplifiers for recording vocals, drums, or multi-instrument ensembles, with each sound source having its own dedicated channel. Route audio from your DAW to external processors such as compressors, equalizers, and effect units, then back to your DAW for hybrid mixing and processing.
The device is compatible with any audio interfaces equipped with ADAT connectors. No additional actions are required to expand the number of channels — the model is ready to work immediately after connection to the sound card and plugging into an outlet.
The device's enclosure is in rack format, but the input and output expanders individually only take up half of a unit. Owners can mount the X8 OUT and X8 IN devices next to each other within one unit, saving space in the rack.
