Zoom R12 is an eight-channel recorder with mixing and track editing functions, built-in effects, synthesizer, and drum machine.

Equipped with two XLR-1/4" TRS inputs with high-quality preamps for connecting microphones, instruments, and line-level signals. Hi-Z Input 1 allows for connecting a guitar. Recorder functions can be controlled directly from the full-color 2.4" touchscreen LCD. Studio editing tools include panning, three-band equalizer, and effects like reverb, delay, chorus, and compression on the input signal. Creating and saving patches from multiple effects, as well as Guitar Lab presets, are available.
The built-in drum machine comes with 150 loops in 30 styles. The built-in synthesizer with 18 FM algorithm types and 8-voice polyphony is designed for creating melodies and pads. The synthesizer can be controlled through the touchscreen or an external keyboard connected via USB. The R12 can be powered by four AA batteries (up to 5 hours) or the AD-17 power adapter. On the rear side, there are stereo outputs and a headphone output. The USB-C port allows for using the R12 as a stereo audio interface and DAW controller, as well as for streaming. File and sample import is possible through micro SD cards or USB drives.
